Hello!
Meet teacher Shannon! Founder of Outsider Artshop, Shannon is a multi dimensional artist who specializes in bicycled themed sculptures and whose formal education is in fashion design. She studied fashion design in Boston, MA and later earned a second degree at the Art Institute of CA/SF. Her work can be seen all over the city and in October 2022 she followed her passion and opened a sewing studio and local art store Outsider Artshop!
Shannon has been teaching kids classes for over 8 years. Her teaching style stems from her background in Reggio Emilia approach. Once she gets to know the students, she implements lesson plans that she thinks the student gravitates towards or could benefit from.

To view Shannon's work please click here! Her bicycle sculptures came about from a love for cycling and a love for repurposing found objects and materials. She is passionate about all things art and making, learning new tools, processes and sharing her knowledge to others. When Shannon is not creating, you can find her hanging out with her her 14 year old mutt Tucker, riding her bike around SF, heading to a yoga class or to an artshow.

Camp Days have a minimum of 2 child signups and a maximum of 8. A camp day with only one sign up will be cancelled and refunded.

Do you do custom designs or alterations?
-No, Unfortunately I don't have the capacity to take on extra sewing projects outside of teaching, running a business, and creating.
